Urovysion FISH testing
Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) testing can help identify subtle structural rearrangements, variant chromosomes, and sub-microscopic changes not readily discernable by classic cytogenetics. FISH relies on three technologies: cytogenetics, DNA hybridization, and fluorescence microscopy to provide another level of laboratory testing. FISH utilizes DNA probes comprised of specific nucleic acid sequences tagged with a fluorescent marker. Path Logic’s genitourinary pathologists are highly trained specifically to interpret FISH slides using the latest technology available. The key advantage to using FISH over traditional cytopathology is the ability to detect likely cancer cells that do not appear cytologically abnormal yet.
PCA3 testing
The PCA3 Assay (Prostate Cancer Gene 3; in the past referred to as DD3) is the first gene-based diagnostic test to help solve the current challenges associated with the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Doing business with Path Logic is different than other pathology groups. For one, we’re owned by pathologists and managed by pathologists, so with us, the medicine always comes first (the business always comes second).
